Dr. Cheng is professor of anesthesiology and director of the Cleveland Clinic Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship Program; immediate past president of AAPM; immediate past chair of the U.S. Section of World Institute of Pain; member of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Pain Management Inter-Agency Task Force to identify gaps and make recommendations in best practice to Congress; member of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Expert Work Group to develop, specify, and maintain clinical quality measures; member of the National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Countering the Opioid Epidemic; played active leadership roles in the Association of University Anesthesiologists (AUA), American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), and American Academy of Regenerative Medicine (AARM); served as associate editor of Pain Practice, senior editor and section editor of Pain Physician.
