Alison M. Vargovich, PhDWVU Dept of Family Medicine

Alison Vargovich, PhD is an Assistant Professor and Licensed Psychologist in the Department of Medicine, Division of Behavioral Medicine at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. In her current position, she provides direct services to patients suffering with chronic pain, engages in research related to the psychosocial correlates of chronic pain, and teaches pain management and psychological care concepts to trainees and medical providers. She has published peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters within her areas of interest and has presented at regional, national, and international conferences on the topics of chronic pain and opioid use/abuse. Dr. Vargovich is passionate about improving graduate medical education regarding the biopsychosocial treatment of chronic pain and providing affordable evidence-based treatment for patients with chronic pain in rural and underserved areas.
