Daniel Bruns, PhD Health Psychology Associates

Dr. Bruns received his PsyD from the University of Northern Colorado and specializes in the psychological assessment and treatment of patients with chronic pain. In addition to his practice, he is a senior clinical instructor for the University of Colorado Occupational Medicine Program, and a physician educator for the state of Colorado. Dr. Bruns has been involved in development of about 20 guidelines related to pain and injury, is currently co-chair of the ACOEM “MDGuidelines” medical treatment guidelines, and is a past co-chair of the Colorado Medical Treatment Guidelines. He is the coauthor of numerous research articles and book chapters about the assessment and treatment of patients with injuries or chronic pain, and was the principle investigator in a 15-year-long longitudinal study of 29 million injured patients which tested the benefits of the biopsychosocial model.
