Dr. Tim Lamer has practiced Pain Medicine at the Mayo Clinic for over 30 years as a clinician, investigator, administrator, and educator. Although he practices in an academic setting, he has a busy clinical practice, trained hundreds of trainees and has been involved in the affairs of organized medicine throughout most of his career. He is a Professor of Anesthesiology in the College of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic and practices in the Division of Pain Medicine and in the Multidisciplinary Spine Center at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where his practice encompasses the spectrum of pain medicine including cancer, chronic, and acute/peri-operative pain evaluation and management.
Dr. Lamer has been involved with AAPM for over 20 years and have served on many committees and leadership positions over those years, including his current position as President. He has also served on the Editorial Board for the AAPM Pain Medicine Journal since its inception and currently serves as the Interventional Pain and Neuromodulation Section Co-Editor.
